Ryukyu Kempo

Ryukyu Kempo is the name of our method of Karate.  The word "Ryukyu" is the ancient name for Okinawa.  "Kempo" literally means "fist method".  Ryukyu Kempo teaches the old way of Karate, which was developed for the protection and betterment of human lives, as opposed to new-way Karate which is now taught worldwide as sport.

Shinkikan Dojo

Shinkikan is the name of our specific school of Ryukyu Kempo.  "Shin" means Truth.  "Ki" means To Return, and "Kan" means place or school.  Therefore, "Shinkikan" means "school of returning to truth".
